South Carolina Food is Medicine Collaborative for Outcomes and Research (SC FiM CORE)

SC FiM CORE is a multidisciplinary research initiative dedicated to advancing Food is Medicine science across South Carolina. By bringing together researchers, healthcare systems, community organizations, and policymakers, the group seeks to generate rigorous evidence on the effectiveness, implementation, and sustainability of Food is Medicine interventions.

The collaborative aims to serve as the leading research entity for Food is Medicine in South Carolina by conducting rigorous studies on FiM programs, training the next generation of investigators, and fostering partnerships that improve health equity and nutrition-related outcomes. Through regional collaboration and scientific leadership, the collaborative seeks to accelerate advancement of knowledge about the role of food in prevention and management of chronic disease and translation of evidence into practice and inform healthcare systems and Food is Medicine initiatives nationwide and globally.
