Online MPH in Health Services Policy and Management
Health services policy and management is where public health, health care systems and leadership come together. In USC’s online MPH in Health Services Policy and Management program in the Department of Health Services Policy and Management , you’ll learn how to improve the quality, safety, efficiency and effectiveness of health services and health systems across public agencies, health organizations, private practices and health care facilities.
This program is built for students who want to move into leadership, policy, program management or health systems roles and make a direct impact in communities, organizations and the broader health sector. The online format is especially well suited for students who are unable to attend classes on campus but want the knowledge, skills and experiences needed to lead within agencies and organizations dedicated to improving the public’s health.
What You’ll Study
You’ll build the skills to manage public health programs, lead population-based health improvement activities and understand how organizations, policies and resources shape health outcomes. Coursework includes operations management in health care organizations, public health budgeting and finance, health economics, public health law and health policy development.
Curriculum
The online MPH in Health Services Policy and Management is a 45-credit-hour program that includes the public health core, public health management courses, public health and health care policy courses, an applied practice experience and an integrative learning experience.
