MPH in Health Services Policy and Management
Health services policy and management is where public health, healthcare systems and leadership come together. In the MPH in Health Services Policy and Management program, you’ll learn how to improve the quality, safety, efficiency and effectiveness of health services and health systems across public agencies, health organizations, private practices and healthcare facilities.
This program is built for students who want to move into leadership, policy, program management or health systems roles and make a direct impact in communities, organizations and the broader health sector.
What You’ll Study
You’ll build the skills to manage public health programs, lead population-based health improvement activities and understand how organizations, policies and resources shape health outcomes. Coursework includes operations management in healthcare organizations, public health budgeting and finance, health economics, public health law and health policy development.
Curriculum
The MPH in Health Services Policy and Management is a 45-credit-hour program that includes the public health core, public health management courses, public health and healthcare policy courses, an applied practice experience and an integrative learning experience.

Where our Grads Work
Graduates are prepared for management and policy roles in public health agencies, community health programs, healthcare organizations and public health-related programs in the private sector as directors, analysts, managers, administrators, associates and more. Alumni also work in nationally prominent advisory roles, private-sector health-related organizations, domestic and international health organizations and public service roles.
Some of our alumni are working at the S.C. Department of Public Health, SC Department of Environmental Services, the U.S. Senate in advisory/policy roles, Colonial Life and Accident Insurance Company, and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International.
