Teaching
Rather than focusing exclusively on what to think, Victoria Alexander-Smith is often more interested in teaching people how to think about a problem. Tools change. Technologies change. Industries change. But the ability to evaluate information, ask better questions, identify patterns and make sound decisions remains valuable regardless of the context.
Research Interests
- How can organizations ensure that AI improves human decision-making without undermining trust, accountability, or professional judgment?
- How might cultural messaging and media bias help explain why Americans experience poorer outcomes across key measures of individual and societal well-being compared with peer nations?
Personal
Alexander-Smith has lived everywhere from Hawaii to Korea, but these days, she's happily rooted in Columbia. She's married to her best friend, have three amazing kids, and her parents live right down the street — so family is never far away.
When she's not working on a project, you’ll probably find them hanging out in Nashville, Alabama (roll tide!), or at the beach building sandcastles, which is easily one of her favorite places to be.
