I love cozy reading days, movie nights and any spontaneous adventures with my friends! I'll also never say no to any sweet treat (though froyo runs to 16 Handles is probably my favorite)!

Why I chose the South Carolina Honors College
The South Carolina Honors College not only has the opportunities to let you succeed, they put in the effort to help make sure you do! The Honors College had everything I wanted on paper along with the care and support you can't find on a statistics page. This school truly works to make sure every student is supported and cared for!
My advice for prospective students: Let your journey be your own! A lot of things feel very overwhelming while choosing and then coming into a new environment, and it is really easy to compare yourself to what friends or peers are doing. It may seem like everyone is already prepared while you feel nervous, or you may feel like no one is as excited as you are. Your path to choosing schools doesn't have to look like everyone else's, and don't let comparison stop you from embracing where you feel most at home!
Favorite question during an information session: How did you know the South Carolina Honors College was the right choice over other schools?
USC was initially the only school that I had applied to and not visited! It wasn't until Admitted Students Day in April, less than a month before decision day, that I actually saw the campus. I felt like I had a running list of pros and cons for every school I had seen, but when I visited USC, the constant comparisons in my mind quieted. The Honors College seminar addressed every question I could have had, and I walked out feeling excited rather than drowned in information. The opportunities to create my own major and get into research as a freshman really stuck out to me, and I ended up doing both of those things my first year! I truly felt like the community in the Honors College was palpable, even as a prospective student. The access to the SEC experience with a smaller community and the immense opportunities really stood out to me in a way no other school did. I committed to USC the day after I got back from Admitted Students Day, and it was the best decision I've made!
