A Note from the Program
The Master of Arts (M.A.) in Counseling and Rehabilitation is a 60-credit hour program offering three specialized practice areas: Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling, Clinical Addiction Counseling, and Career Counseling. Each track meets South Carolina’s academic requirements for licensure as a Licensed Professional Associate (LPC-A or LAC-A) and certification as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), National Certified Counselor (NCC), Master Addiction Counselor (MAC), or Certified Career Counselor (CCC). Counseling and Rehabilitation program graduates are uniquely prepared to support individuals with physical, mental, developmental, and cognitive disabilities, as well as those without disabilities, in achieving their personal, interpersonal, career, and recovery goals.
We believe that collaborative engagement between faculty and students is key to our students’ professional success. We value the varied backgrounds of our students in age, gender, race and ethnicity, educational background, sexual orientation, disability, and other multicultural identities. We strongly encourage applications from all interested individuals, especially those from historically and traditionally underrepresented groups.
