Residential Learning

For Carolina students, residence halls and apartments aren’t merely places to sleep at night and store some belongings. They’re places of learning, community building, growing and developing. The Division of Student Affairs and Academic Support provides facilities, programs and services to help make that happen.

Living and Learning Communities

Living and learning communities offer students environments that encourage faculty-student interaction and promote a strong sense of community.

Neighbor Relations

The University of South Carolina is committed to providing local residents with resources and support to help foster a positive neighborhood environment for both permanent residents and students.

Off-Campus Student Services

Most upperclassmen live off-campus in neighboring communities and apartment complexes. USC offers resources to help them make informed choices about their housing, be good neighbors and maintain a focus on their studies and a connection to campus life.

Residence Halls

USC students — primarily freshmen — live in 24 residence halls that foster community, facilitate learning and offer an environment that ensures they feel at home at Carolina.

Student Legal Services

In partnership with South Carolina Legal Services, USC offers students consultations on landlord-tenant and housing matters, as well as consumer protection, probate law, domestic relations and employment law.
