About the Event:

Dr. Barra is an assistant professor of race and environment, with a joint appointment in the Department of Anthropology and the School of the Earth, Ocean & Environment at the University of South Carolina. In her first book, she examines Black ecologies and the politics of coastal restoration in Louisiana. Learn more about her first book.

The event will also feature book talks by Agnes Mueller of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures and Leland G. Spencer of Women’s and Gender Studies.
